EXCERPT: The tithe, which literally means tenth, first occurs in the Bible in Genesis 14 when Abraham tithes a tenth of everything he had to enter into covenant with the Priest-King Melchizedek. He wasn’t forced or commanded to do it, it was a revelation birthed in his spirit as a result of the blessing spoken over him and his descendants. The tithe has been around from the beginning of God’s renewed covenant. It’s a renewed covenant because it was broken by Adam and Eve, renewed with Noah and his offspring and reinforced with Abraham and his offspring. |
