"These are new things I'm teaching, and they can't be reconciled with old habits. ... And, nobody puts new, unfermented wine into old wineskins because if he does, the wine will burst the skins; they would lose both the wineskins and the wine. No, the only appropriate thing is to put new wine into new wineskins." ~ Brit Chadeshah: Mark 2:21-22
Yeshua is my favorite rebel with a cause. He was always doing something outside the box and that freaked people out (read more in Revelation is for Elevation). In Mark 3:6 He's called a dangerous dreamer. I *LOVE* that. I'm a bit of a rebel myself; always have been, but now I'm a rebel for Him instead of for the enemy. I recently read the book of Mark and I love how He wrecked (that's a popular term in my house these days) everyone who said something ignorant to Him. When I read about new wineskins, Holy Spirit spoke and said, "That's a renewed mind." We read that instruction from Rabbi Shaul all the time, but I can tell you from the number of folks I interact with that too many haven't actually submitted their minds to be renewed. I read the history of the works of Jesus in Mark and I have notes written all over the pages asking for opportunities to do what He did. When I ask, I believe in faith nothing wavering, that I've received (Matthew 21:22) and I go forward and do what I read He did. It may not happen the first, second or fifth times I complete the action, but I'm not going to stop just because of that (the enemy always comes to test the Word sown -Mark 4). My mind has been renewed to believe His Words and that I can do what He did and greater. I don't care what I see. His promises trump what I see with my natural eyes. Can you say the same? If not, why? You think He lies? Your mind needs to be a new wineskin. The Godhead is different; they want us to be different, think different, act and live different. The Bible says over and over that God set them apart. That's His divine plan. Fitting in is trash. You can't find that anywhere in the Logos. If you truly want to be like Yeshua, you're gonna be a rebel of the status quo. You won't be crazy. Well ... you will be the world, but your difference is what will draw others to you to understand your joy and power. You have to make up your mind to be a new wineskin for Him. That is ... if you're not scared. This faith life ain't no joke. It's fun, but it gets real. Copyright © 2015 Zari Banks, M.Ed |
